NAPLES — Martial artists Jadon Yetter and Luis Rosa earned medals at the 2012 USA Karate Nationals in Fort Lauderdale on July 15.
Now the two grade school combatants will represent the United States at the Shito Kai Karate Do Pan American Championships in Gatineau, Canada next week.
The 6-year-old Yetter and the 8-year-old Rosa are students at the Okinawa’s Karate Do Learning Center in North Naples. The duo will be joined in Canada by fellow pupil Jonathan Cuchi.
Yetter, who will be a first grader at Corkscrew Elementary in the fall, won the gold medal in the male beginner kata for his age group. Rosa, whose father, Sensei Julio Rosa, is Okinawa’s owner and teacher, earned a bronze medal in the male advanced kumite category in his age group...........
